02 · Method
Built to be checked
Good research can say where each figure came from, how far to trust the source, and which parts are our own analysis.
- 01
Every figure has a source
Every figure names its source, and the web pages link to it. The proxy bank also quotes the source text, and every value had a second, independent check.
- 02
Sources graded A to D
The Competitiveness Monitor and the proxy bank say whether a figure comes from official statistics, research, professional reports or market prices, so readers know how far to trust it.
- 03
Every edition kept
The Monitor keeps each edition with its PDF and CSV exactly as published. The Horizon Scan logs every change by version.
- 04
Facts kept apart from analysis
Scenarios, scores and the five-pillar calls are NXT's analysis, not forecasts, and the rules behind them are published.

About the research and data
What research and data does NXT publish?
Three pieces of research: the OECD Accession Playbook in 2 volumes, the Thailand Horizon Scan 2026 (16 trends, 4 scenarios) and the Thailand Competitiveness Monitor (Thailand against 8 Asian economies). Three open datasets: the financial proxy bank for SROI with 278 values, and the data files of the Monitor and the Horizon Scan. Three free tools: an SROI calculator, a sample size calculator and an OECD readiness check.
Can I reuse NXT's data?
The Horizon Scan, the Competitiveness Monitor and the financial proxy bank are CC BY 4.0: reuse them, commercially too, with credit to NXT Consulting Group. Each figure remains its original source's. The OECD playbooks are free to download and cite.
How often is it updated?
The Horizon Scan is updated monthly (next on 1 Dec 2026). The Competitiveness Monitor is updated every quarter after NESDC's GDP release. The proxy bank's sources were last checked on 1 Nov 2026. The OECD playbooks keep a monthly progress log.
Where do the figures come from, and how far can I trust them?
From public sources such as NESDC, the BOI, the World Bank, the IMF, IMD, WIPO and government agencies. The Competitiveness Monitor and the proxy bank grade each source A to D. Scenarios, scores and calls are NXT's analysis, not forecasts.
How do I cite NXT's work?
Use the formats in Cite and reuse on this page, with the date or version you used. For the Competitiveness Monitor, cite the edition: each has its own record page, PDF and CSV.
